7520 and sprint relay customer service question

by servicejumper    Aug 9, 2006, 4:37 PM

Ok here is the deal. My son is deaf and my wife and I have nextel in NC. I know that through AIM messenger (aol instant messenger), I can use the sprint relay for my son to have a phone, and I know this is covered in the data plan( or at least I hope it is). My question is I have recently bought two blackberry's, one 7520 which I have now and one 7100i in a couple of days. Currently i am using a I870 and put my sim in the 7520 to make sure everything is working. There is a software called Ramble IM that allows the blackberry to connect to AIM and it works fine also. Do I have to have a blackberry plan or can I keep the data plan I have now. The only reason I have the blackberry is for him to be able to type out conversations easier for the Relay service and not have to buy any TTY equipment to have to carry around. Any help/ideas are greatly appreciated
