Verizon?

If Verizon carried this phone, I may think about sticking with them after December. I graduate from college in December, and I am moving back home for a while. Verizon service isn't so great back home, but Cingular blankets the area.

Anyone know if Verizon will carry the 6235i?

I would guess that it is in testing for multiple companies that use CDMA. Nokias are typically good phones so I wouldn't doubt that this one might get a Verizon symbol slapped on it sometime in the first quarter.

To replace my trusty 3589i. It's like a reliable sidekick.

I work for Verizon Wireless customer service and tech support, so far, we have not been given the heads up to whether VZW will be carrying this phone, I hope we do though. I've always had nokias, only in sept did I upgrade to a Samsung, but only because it was the only reliable camera phone that was for a cheap price. But, if this phone comes out next year, you can be sure I will be upgrading to this and go back to the trusty and reliable Nokias.

Thanks for the response. I'd like to stay with Verizon, but the service in my hometown (Felicity, Ohio) just isn't as great as it is with Cingular.

However, the Nokia 3589i I had with Verizon got decent service, but had few advanced features. Currently I am using the Motorola V710, which I really like. I hoped to use the phone with my Bluetooth USB adapter on my computer, but Verizon requested that this feature be disabled! If you know a way to enable or bypass it, please let me know!

Andrew,

Yeah, the V710 is the bane of my existance along with pretty much every other Motorola at VZW. I may work for VZW, but that doesn't mean I'm blind to the fact when my employer purposely disables and handicaps equipment for the sheer purpose of increasing revenue. Which leads me to Get It Now (BREW) but that's another issue. Unfortunately there is no way to bypass this problem. Needless to say, our sales reps have sold alot fewer V710's ovre the past few months, now that the shortcomings are coming to light about this very expensive phone. As far as going to Cingular, hey, if you can get better service with them, then go for it. Cell phones and cell companies are only good if you can actually use the service where you live. ...

I was appalled to learn that Verizon has disabled the browser on my nokia 6015i, and after many days of research on how to replace the firmware, I may be giving up. What a retarded policy. Why not give customers the OPTION of deactivating the browser?!?! So now I'm stuck with a neutered phone and stuck with Verizon. Any idea if they'll release the 6235i? That just might keep me making verizon rich. Thanks, Sid sidbaxter@yahoo.com 😕

😕 Why would they disable your browser? My old 3589i's browser works fine.

after working for Verizon for some time now, I can tell you they get a kick out of handicapping phones. Taking web browsers off, games, ringtones, etc. Reason for this is to push their freaking Get It Now products, to increase their revenue, and also to force you to purchase more expensive phones to get the features you want. The best thing now is the "bluetooth" handicapped phone that VZW has been selling to many a pissed off customer now. The mighty Moto V710.

Doesn't Verizon has a requirement for external antennas? Look at Verizon's line up, none of them has internal antenna except for 2 of the PDA phones.
