6236i recycles often when I get a call
I thought maybe I was getting a static electricity effect when sliding it out of the holster since the lining on one side seems like silk ("Made in China" of course ;-), and it started with the 1st phone last fall (when we started running the house heat as I seem to recall) but that would not seem to be the case when it is simply lying on a table/counter/desk less than 1 foot from my hand, but doing the exact same thing as soon as I reach for it (although that still seems like a static effect despite no visible spark, or feeling of one).
Experimenting a bit more, it seems to be hitting after about 2-3 rings regardless of whehter I reach/touch it (when it does happen).
I had the 1st unit since May last year with my Verizon NE2 program, and it did not start doing this till last Fall. After having it go on for several months before I determined there was a definite pattern with incoming calls, I took it to a local Verizon store, and since I have a full replacement plan the tech hardly bothered to look at, but just ordered another. Might as well have kept the 1st unit, and not hassled with transferring my info/settings to the new one - exact same problem.
Now they are willing to replace it with a different brand/model, but the 1st tech offered a choice of LG vx8300 and vx5300, along with a Razr of some sort, but the 2nd tech said manager only ok'ed vx5300 - not as desireable from what I could see of feature sets (EVDO and music capabilites - altho no FM radio as with the 6236i, which I have really come to enjoy).
Any ideas?
TIA,
rokky
