Monday afternoon I came across the P207 and really liked it so decided I wanted it. I just joined Cingular in December via cingular.com from ATT and they sent 3 v220's for my brother, father and I. After my mother saw the V220 she loved it and wanted one. A few weeks later the Sony Z500A came out so I said mom you can have my v220 and i will just add a new line and get the z500a since it was always the phone I wanted but it was never out. I order the phone a few weeks down the road when i get the money for it and then I get and I like it but then ..as it always goes something better came out in the form of the v207. since it wasnt 30 days yet i was going to trade it in but they wouldnt send me the phone unless i sent the other back or i...

First off the phone was just released and was very anticipated. Snags in your order probably mean that the dya that was released CIngular received so many orders for it that it was very taxing on the company to make sure not to oversell the phone. As far as you having to send you phone back that jsut basic business sense what if they were to send you the second phone while you still have the z500 and then you recvie the p207 and never send the first phone back. The company would lose SO MUCH money if they processed things that way since most people would not return the first phone. Everything in Life is business learn it, live it, don't B*^CH cuz it won't change for once person.

I no longer work for Cingular, so I will fill y'all in on a little of what goes on there. The reason the customer service sucks is that employees are FORCED to get you, the customer, off the phone as quickly as possible. In addition, Cingular Customer Care employees must be under a certain percentage of transfers, repeat calls, and availability. In English, the goal is to get you off the phone ASAP, NOT transfer you to the appropriate department, NOT have you call back, etc. Reps were expected to fix the problem, but were "dinged" for transfers, being on long calls, using an outside line to call someone back, etc. Billing is a joke...we were expected to handle some pretty serious problems in an average of less than 600 seconds, and there is...

You do realize that those other two companies treat their customer care reps just the same. What problems have you had with your personal account. These problems you are speaking about happen to all phone companies, not just Cingular. And yes, Cingular is money hungry... that's what a business is about... You'll be hard pressed to find a company that isn't money hungry and if they aren't then they are not going to be in business very long. You saw it from an insiders perspective, a majority of Cingular customers do not call in and have issues. We know about them because we deal with them every day. You think Nextel is better? Go work for them and see what happens. And they were not 'forced' to migrate. A new company took over and now they ha...

let me address each item...FIRST, I will not work for Nextel or any other wireless company again. (BTW The GSM technology in the US uses such small bursts of rf that calls are dropped, as opposed to CDMA, with the longer rf). Second, The Gulf States and Southeast are working on ancient towers that sustained hurricane damage years ago and still have not been repaired. Third, the ATT networks are far more reliable (AXYS/Siebel): the south works on Nortel GSM, which is spotty. Finally, if you read USA Today, you will have seen the article and investigation regarding forced migration. We were given a script to handle the calls about that article-I am surprised you didn't read it , since you are so versed in these matters. Oh, and MY problems ...
