Loaded it with i325 antenna

I took the non-retractable antenna from an i325

and attached it to my i605.

So far it seems to work very well! The mechanical properties of the connector for the two antennas are identical and it would appear that the electromagnetic properties are, ahem, compatible.

That is to say, I think I am getting the same or better radiated transmit power with the transplanted antenna.

I did this because


  1. I hate the extend/retract routine
  2. the antenna is nice to grab when removing the phone from the holster
  3. I want optimal signal strength for incoming call notifications
  4. I am sick of accidentally retracting the antenna during a call by running it into the bri

So you are saying that i325 is better in the rain than i605.
Don't they both conform to the same military spec 810F?
Could you describe how both handle rain?
