Headset issue

I use a radioshack HS-1957 headset with my cell phone. It has worked well with Samsung A460 and A400 and my Sony cordless phone. I have had my LG VI-125 for about a week. When I get in the car, I usually plug the headset in to the cell phone. This way, if the phone rings, I just put on the headset and press talk.

I have figured out that the phone places calls by itself while the headset is plugged in. It usually happens when I enter or exit the car.

I bought a new headset from RadioShack (it has the Plantronics name on it) and now I notice that whenever I plug *this* set in to the phone, the phone redials the last number immediately.

Also, as I have read here before, the headset earpiece volume is very low on the LG VI-125. Tu...

Had the exact same problem with the LG 6070 in Canada on TELUS. I think it's because LG made the insert on the phones just a little different, even though it's reported as 2.5 standard. I tried 3 different headsets with the 6070, and spontaneous redials were constant. Never did try/buy the LG earbud to confirm 100% that it was the problem, but I returned the phone because of this issue as I'm in my car a lot.
