LG VI-125

I use a radioshack HS-1957 headset with my cell phone. It has worked well with Samsung A460 and A400 and my Sony cordless phone. I have had my LG VI-125 for about a week. When I get in the car, I usually plug the headset in to the cell phone. This way, if the phone rings, I just put on the headset and press talk.

I have figured out that the phone places calls by itself while the headset is plugged in. It usually happens when I enter or exit the car.

I bought a new headset from RadioShack (it has the Plantronics name on it) and now I notice that whenever I plug *this* set in to the phone, the phone redials the last number immediately.

Also, as I have read here before, the headset earpiece volume is very low on the LG VI-125. Turning the volume all the way up does not help.

Are these issues that can be corrected with software updates? I would really like to keep the VI-125 because of the great earpiece sound quality (without the headset), the easy to read outside display, and the compact internal-antenna styling.

Plus, you gotta love a cell phone that doubles as a night-light!! (see earlier threads)

ps-we have two of these phones and have verified the headset issue on both handsets.
