I am considering the the 8100 and the 650.

1. If money is no object.
2. My wife has the 650. (easier sched sharing and phonebook syncing ?)
3. I dont want dropped calls. DUH.
4. I want great pic quality.
5. which has better batterylife?
6. will either of them take a 1 gig and up memory card, not just 512?
7. we are on verizon.
8. I really want to hook up to the internet with either one through my router, is that impossible?
9. which has better movie taking anviewing abiliities? Like I want to play a ripped dvd on it.
10. sound quality (phone AND playback of mp3's?)
Phew, so many questions, please help this noob out... 😲)

Two totally different phones. What they share in common are the provider, camera feature, Bluetooth and speakerphone.

Otherwise, E815 is EVDO, Motorola, and is basically a phone. The Treo 650 is a true PDA. With the Treo, you get HTML internet, not just Mobil Web 2.0. You have a QWERTY keyboard, making it much easier to type text messages and emails. You have a much larger screen. Obvoiusly, you have all the PDA functions of calendar schedule, etc. You have easy access to email and attachments for viewing like jpegs, word documents, etc.

Unless someone has both phones, it's tough to state which phone has better battery life, reception, etc.

if you are not going to use the pda functions, go with the 8100 or the E815.

But you said you wanted to hook it up through your router? Not sure exactly what you mean by that, but if you mean you wanted wifi access while at home, I'm not sure if that's possible. The whole point of the Treo is to have internet access through VZW anywhere, not just at home or starbucks where wifi is available.

Hey thanks YZFdave for replying.
I havent gotten a bite on my thread in a while.
I am also curios if I can listen to mp3's and movies through a BT headset, I read here that you need to ahave a BT ver1.2 to listen to mp3's and that the treo is BT ver1.1.
Can anyone verify this??
thanks again for replying!

In my personal experience, the 8100 was hell for me. The 650 is good for me and may be good for you too. 😁
