hello, I just wanted to find out if anyone who has had the 650 has made the switch to the 700... I am trying to decide if the 700 is worth it. I am leaning toward the 650. Originally I was dead set on 700w... I thought it would be helpful to have a window's OS...after reading rewiews, it doesnt seem as though its all that its cracked up to be. I have previously owned Palm PDA's, so I am familiar with the Palm OS. Any feedback would be great.

Thanks

I tried out the 700w, before I got my 650. The windows os is just not suited to handheld devices. It is slow, clunky, and has lousy memory management. It takes to many clicks to get anywhere in the the interface. The palm interface is not perfect but it is designed for handheld devices. Now that the 700p is out, you can get all the extra hardware advantages of the 700 platform with the palm interface.

Thanks for the input... I was all about getting the Treo 700w... but the reviews here and on Cnet.com pushed in another direction. I even called Palm -- and asked what was the big difference... naturally speed and space was huge factor... and about the only factors... It doesnt seem as though buyers have the Windows Operating System at their figure tips for easy use the way they thought they would. I decided that I am going to try the 650 and see how I like it...

Thanks again

The Treo 700w confuses me. It was to complex for me (maybe it's me or maybe it's the windows system Who knows?). In due time, i shall get the 700p; but for now, I like my 650. It's way simple. Simple is good. 😎

I now have a treo 700w & still have a 650 as a back up (a lot have changed during this time). The 700w isn't as bad as i thought. After briefly owning the vx6700 (same thing, diffreent shell), the 700w is a piece of cake. You just gotta decide wich OS you want: Palm or Windows; or both, like me.
