I bought the treo 650 on Mon 5/23 and noticed immediately that I was dropping calls and getting no "bars" in areas where I always did. After many calls to tech support, they had me return the phone for a new one. Guess what? Same issue. I am getting poor reception and dropping calls left and right. It must be the phone. Is anyone else having this isssue? My friend was with me numerous times with a much cheaper phone and had much better reception! And yes, I've done *228....doesn't help..........Anyone else?

It is strange because I am having the exact opposite experience. I had the LG-VX7000 and had to change my route to and from my office because the reception was terrible! I could not keep a call for more than 30 seconds. Verizon support switched the phone out several times and even let me use a different model (Samsung) and the reception remained terrible. When I got the 650 I tried the quicker route to my office. I made a call and did not lose at any point during the ride. Verizon swears they did nothing in the area to expand coverage. I know it doesn't make sense but my experience has been that there really is no rhyme or reason to why some of the phones have better service. My wife uses a Kyocera that I think I paid $29 for as she did...

i too have had nothing but problems with the treo 650 from verizon. believe it or not I was one of the first users of the phone when it was released thru the business unit. I have had the phone for 4 weeks and now I'm going on my 4th new 650 handheld.
I have had problems with the hot sync, wireless hot sync, bluetooth pairing, unit resetting itself and the outlook calendar or contacts file deleteing itself/
Verizon know one fix,"try a hard reset" i did that at least 100 times per their request. nothing worked, and this after being sent to level 2-3 tech support,.Palmone would not talk with me because"each carrier handles there own tech support issues" I finally made it thru to Intellisync who handles the sync programs, it took them 1 mi...

It may sounds like I am riding the fence on this. But I believe it's a combination of both. I've used the cheapest motorola V90 phone and reception was excellent and very little call drop. I have used the Motorola V710, KYOCERA 7135, and now I am using the Treo 650. I have been a long time customer of AllTell and I have been a 2-year user of Verizon and my experience in terms of call-drop has been the WORST since switching to Verizon. I have more call-drop with the 7135 and the 650 is fairly new and I have already seen a pattern of call-drop. I have contacted VZW and reported those exact spots with exact Latitude and Longitude coordinates from my Jeep's navigation system and to this day, VZW has never responded or looked into this problem......
