It's true this phone is OPP which doesn't work for BMW which uses DUN. We chave a 2005 3 Series and it works with the V710. If it's anything like Sprint palm will come up with a DUN patch.
However the phone does work great with our 2005Lexus RX

BMW needs OPP. DUN gives you a BT modem.

You need to install the Bluetooth Update found on the PalmOne website:

Although BMW is listed as "NO" for functioning, it does work.

I also just purchased an 06 BMW 3 series and am trying to pair the Treo 650/Verizon with the car's BT. Am I supposed to download the patch for Sprint or Cingular from Palm's website? The BMW tech tells me it won't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. . or else the 650 will have to go back ☚ī¸

It will work. I have an 05 545i and successfully paired it with a Treo 650 with no problems whatsoever. I did not need to download any additional updates or software from Verizon or Palm. Hope this helps. Good luck and congrats on the new car 🙂

Nice. does the 3 series use the same BT frequency or whatever as the 5 series!? other blogs suggest the 3 series is not syncing with the 650.

Thanks for the congrats, maybe someday i can afford a 5 series! 🙂

It should just be a matter of the production date of your vehicle. Any 2006 model should be fine.

Some pre-3/04 models need a software update on the car, about $95, to enable Bluetooth.

Actually, while the VZW Treo 650 connects with my 545, it does not transfer the phone book (like the V710 did). It only shows my speed dials under A-Z. Hopefully this issue will be resolved.
