Palm Treo 650 (CDMA)
is sound clarity poor or is it just me?
I just received the Treo 650, but I seem have some problems with the ear speaker and the speaker phone. I received a 650 two days ago and returned it because the sonud quality of the from where u place your ear to hear from, sounded as if the little speaker had blew. It sounded like a cracking or sound. the speaker also sonded like that. I returned it and just received a new 650 today. Once again I am have the same problem. Its not too bad,but its as not crisp. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? Thanks in advance:-)

I tend to agree. I upgraded to the 650 from the 300 and expected a great improvement in the sound quality but the sound quality is not that much better. I have not experienced a cracking sound but more difficulty hearing and others hearing me. When I where the headset, the sound quality is considerably improved.

Get rid of the phone. I am on my second 650 and am getting ready to return this one as well. Nobody can hear me on the phone, they say I cut out constantly, sound like I am in a tin can, and I drop calls all the time. I never had these problems with my Samsung Flip. Twice I have had to hang up with the person I was talking to and call them back on a land line because they could not understand a word I said

☹️ Sound clarity for the mp3 is horrible!
I upgraded from the zire 72, the mp3 on that was great. I tried all kinds of headphones, etc- had to order an adapter to convert the 2.5mm phone jack to the 3.5mm stereo jack. But nothing worked! I just bought an Ipod 40 gig to use for my music and lectures and gave up on the mp3 for the tre0 650! But.. I do love the treo 650, all in all is great-just like a zire 72 with a phone. Internet acess is great.
Versamail sucks..keeps resetting my palm-so now I just get my yahoo mail from the portal when I go online. So all my basis are covered. But I wouldn't give up my 650-even with those little problems.

regarding the total suckiness of versamail, just ditch it and use snappermail.....it is unbelievably capable.

I agree, the speaker sounds blown and if I don't pick up the call.. when the ringer ends.. it crackles... any chance Palmone or sprint will address this?

i experience the same crackling. my girlfriend got the phone about a month ago, and two days in the speaker went on it, which meant no speaker phone, mp3 player, or ringers. took a month to get a replacement because of the lack of phones. so beware...
