All I have to say is that if the replacement for this handset doesn’t have at least a 2megapixle camera, external player controls, bt and at least 10mg of internal memory I’m done with Sanyo.. BTW any word on the 9040or9000?

Yeah, and how 'bout supporting MP3 ringers. QCP sounds like ****.

the 5600 already supports AAC/MP4/M4A ringers which are smaller than MP3's and sound the same, so why would you want it to have support for a file format that you could fit less of on your phone????

Exactly. Not sure why people are in love with the .mp3 format. My ringer in AAC sounds great.

AAC definitely owns MP3 but, I don't understand why people care so much about the megapixels on the camera. Yeah it's nice to have a phone that can take pictures but I'd rather have bluetooth, wireless headsets, interconnectivity with newer computers, and sync-ing first.

The memstick is nice. They beat me to fullfilling that request, though support for some more common memmodules would be better too.

Give me a break, and stop complaining. Sanyo makes some of the best phones out there. Go ahead and switch to another manufacturer, you'll come crawling back. A phone is a phone. It supports AAC and other high qual ringers, they sound perfectly fine. How often do you listen to your ringers anyhow? Its a novelty. Phone functions superbly. You shouldn't complain. BT will be integrated when sanyo is good and ready. Suck it up. You want a real camera, don't depend on your phone either. You're not going to get quality pictures from any phone. I think people just want more no matter what, and when they get it... still want more. So I'd suggest writing yourself a letter to Sanyo. I think that might be a little more productive.

seen on the internet the blurry pictures of the 9000. a sprint employee who just came in said they are getting the 8800 in next week, which is supposed to be the update to the 5600. only thing different i know of is the adddition of evdo. if the 8800/9000 or whatever isnt anything too better than the 5600, im gonna buy a refurb 5600 from a radioshack in lexington, ky for 343.99 plus my RS discount. because we sell em new for 429. and since im in a employee plan, i have to buy the phone outright, so 343 is better than 429 unless the 8800/9000 has enough stuff added to pass up a refurb 5600.

I don't know what you are talking about an 8800 but its the 9000, no more 9040. 9000 will be pretty much the same as the 5600 except the addition of EV-DO, more internal memory and improved camera (ie bad night time pictures) On the horizon there is also the 5700, 7500 and a Sanyo Series 60 Smartphone (think Danger Sidekick). 5700 is rumored to have CCD 2MP Camera, EV-DO and Bluetooth. Not much is known about the 7500 or the SmartPhone. 9000 may be out in November.

Also for the canybar style phone fantatics expect the RL-4930 out sometime soon. Think 4920 but with the rubber sides (not like the 7200). Should be out around October.
