I just purchased the sanyo mm-5600 and was quite excited to start transferring .jpg images from my computer into the phone for various reasons such as setting backgrounds, pictures for my contacts, etc. To my dismay none of the pictures transferred via USB to the camera's miniSD were viewable. The camera's user guide which is extremely vague on this topic claims the camera supporst .jpg, .bmp, .png, etc. They lie. just use the focus uploader at http://www.sprintusers.com/focus it is easier than the way you are doing it and anything you set from the mini SD is saved to the phone so you are not saving memory by setting things saved on the mini SD card

The above advice is dead-on.

But there IS a way to go from mini card to phone. If the pic is sized right go to your phonebook FIRST. Select the contact you wish to assign the pic to go to EDIT. Then go to where you can assign the picture. The scroll menu has a MINI SD option. That will bring you to the card and you can assign a pic from there. You can also do this for screen savers from the settings menu. Go to DISPLAY settings and scroll down to STANDBY DISPLAY. Then do the same thing.

Also, remember the tool bar at the bottom of the screen cuts about 27 pixels off the bottom of the pic so I usually size my pics tp 240 x 293 and then use Microsoft Paint to add a blank 27 pixel bar to the bottom of the pic.

I hope this helps,
