Thanks for the info, that program worked great! Only one question... do you know any way to get the file into the phone, to use it as a screensaver? I've tried using 3gupload.com, phoneuploader, and the Sprintusers.com focus tool. All of these sites error out and say it is not a supported file format. I put it on the memory card to view it, but when I try to make it a screensaver, the phone tells me: "WARNING! This file can not be set!" I think this is because of the file format, but I'm not sure. I have a movie that I recorded from the phone into to the Memory card and it will allow me to select that as an animation.

If I change the file format to .3g2, instead of .3gp, the phone lets me set it as an animation and it works fine.

Have you tested any of the other video settings in the program? This makes perfect video just to watch, but I would really like to be able to make a short, high quality video to use as a looping screensaver.

Wow. So many Steps 😛

...all compressed into ONE lil program... the way it should be.

And it's so FAST too! 🙂

Thank you for finding this method. The process I was using (convert from mpeg or avi to .mov then from .mov in quicktime pro export as 3gp) took an hour and a half for one 20 minute video. This takes only 10-15! 😁

You didn't set the settings properly most likely.
after chosing the 3gpp + AAC general setting
you can chose the output quality. You have to chose one of the QCIF settings towards the bottom of the list on the Drag and drop screen. Mono or Stereo don't matter. The ones at the top are QVGA settings and, even though the phone has a QVGA screen the supported video is only QCIF or lower.

i think it might be the size of the ringtone (video). try using some video editing software and cut out a 30 second portion (enough for a ringtone) and see if that works.

The program makes a file extension .3gp. For it to work as a ringer you need to change the extension on the file to .3g2, not 3gp2.
