After many failed attempts to get the phone replaced, I finally gave up and got my hands on a dummy phone, and used that case from that on my phone. The problem has been corrected, and it works better than ever. However, I am an engineer, I have worked with small electronics for almost 15 years. If you are not experienced with small electronics, do not do this yourself, you will be replacing your phone.
