Is anyone having problems with this phone?
I e-mailed Sanyo about the problem a little while ago. Hopefully they have a software update on the way for it. We'll see.
As for other issues... some people have complained about calls fading out or something like that. I have not experienced that, but don't doubt the problem exists. There are some problems with the Tegic T9 predictive input system within MIDP applications (downloads). Other than that, it's a rock-solid phone... one of my favorites.
I live in the mid-west portion of Phoenix and work in the north portion where I would consider there should be full strength signal. Its almost in the center area of Phoenix. Doesn't make much sense does it. Stay away from Sprint and their cust service, if you don't drop the call it takes them 20-30 min to get to you. Use speaker-phone and read a book!
Analog networks also support transmission of caller ID, and even text messages-- though SMS is inbound-only and limited to 12 (maybe 16) characters. Not all analog systems support inbound (MT) SMS, but I know the old 360 Communications (formerly Cellular One, now Alltel) system here does.
