i930 and direct-talk?
my company is forcing me to upgrade to a phone with the new direct-talk feature.
will the i930 have this? or should i just get an 850 now and then get a 870 when they come out?

Personally, the price tag at $349 with a two-year contract is a little unattractive considering it doesn't even have bluetooth.

yeah...looks like ill be getting an i850 for now and the i870 when it comes out.
why even bother with the i930? for an outdated version of windows, camera and memory card reader.
i wont be doing any overseas travelling...so i have absolutely no need or interest in this phone. i wouldve considered it, if it had the direct-talk feature...but it doesnt even have that.

i called nextel twice to confirm and visited a nextel store and all 3 said nope.
the info page isnt quite clear. it doesnt really say yes or no. i guess we will see on thursday for sure.

how are you people getting any info from nextel over the phone. everytime i call they play dumb. i also remember reading somewhere that it did not have direct talk, so we'll just have to wait. and you said thursday? where did you hear that? i thought i only recall them releasing phones on the first business day after the first or the 15th of the month.

i called the nextel care # that was automatically saved in my contacts. chose upgrade a phone. got a rep and both read the spec sheet right to me and told me that it was be released on the 6th...but that doesnt mean all the stores are gonna have em on thursday.
i then went into a nextel dealer and he pulled out the whole sales pamplet on it. its gonna be 349 w/ 2yr contract. 500 to buy w/ no contract. he also confirmed the 6th and no direct-talk.
