Can someone tell me why! why would this phone have a flashlight, when it lacks a camera?

I think you're confusing "camera flash" with "flashlight".

A "camera flash" is something to illuminate a scene for a camera to capture.

A "flashlight" is something you use to illuminate a scene for your own eyes, like finding your keys, etc.

They are technically two different features. Since both involve a bright white LED, many camera phones include LED hardware that doubles for both purposes... But not always, so the two features are not synonymous.

Because their complete idiots. They need to learn to focus on customer requirements, forget about flashlights. If I need a flashlight, I'll go to home depot 🙄
