well it is ugly and to make matters worse it is gsm so it wont work in the areas I need it to work gsm only works in major cities and along major highways and I dont know about you if I have a phone I would like the option of using it almost anywhere

GSM is not the answer, it's a company's sucker way out. Anyone that used TDMA is now using GSM to prevent roaming charges to their customers. The size of the United States will take 50+ years to complete every inch that AMPS covered. One more thing... CDMA 3G is alot faster than GSM. I don't like the idea of getting a signal or not with GSM.
OnStar uses CDMA and AMPS cuz it reaches more places than anything else.

i don't know about the technical issues, but having lived in Europe, which is all GSM, for a number of years, i can say that the coverage and experience was much, much better than here.

First off, why would it take twice as long to establish GSM to the same point as AMPS. Second, GSM is NOT 3G, it is only 2.5G. 3G is UMTS or WCDMA which is much faster that CDMA 3G. And finally, GSM phones aren't carrier specific so you don't have to go with a certain carrier just because you like their phones but no their reception.

GSM covers 98% of the U.S.. 😲 the other 2% has no coverage at all. As for OnStar it uses TDMA not CDMA...i work on them all day long 😈

i totally agree. the way a phone looks says a lot about the person that has it. yes it is a phone but it is also part of your wardrobe. you wouldn't want an ugly phone to go with a slammin' outfit.
