Am I Under Water?

I've had this 7100t for about 1 month now and love all it's features. I haven't had any "bug" issues (yet!).

However, everyone I talk to comments on how hard it is to understand me. Yes I speak English (loud and clear).

I've been told that I sound like I'm underwater, got a hand over my mouth, or am talking too far away from the mic. By the way, where in the heck is the mic anyway?

I've tried the phone, hand's free, OEM headset, and a Motorola Bluetooth; all with similar comments.

My phone has been updated with the latest T-Mobile provided software and I don't think there is anything left that I can do.

If those I call have difficulty hearing/understanding me, I may have to switch back to my SideKick2 or other PhoneScoop us...

I'm afraid I don't have any solution for you, but I have a friend who uses the 7100, and I can hardly ever understand what the hell he is saying when we talk. He is in CO, uses TMob, I am in PA using a V710 on VZW... At first I thought it was him, or maybe even my hearing finally going, but seeing your post makes me think maybe it is just his phone... I know that doesn't help you, but maybe there is a larger problem with this phone's audio.

I was actually considering this phone if we decide to port to Cingular soon, but now I'm wondering...

No problems with the 7100g on Cingular service with audio using the handset, bluetooth, or handsfree handset that comes with the phone. Believe it or not, people say that I sound better using the 7100g than I did on my Treo 650. Like I said, no problems with it and I purchased it when it was first released.
