You should see 4 new phones offered by Verizon in PTT, coming about Oct 1. Color screens and camera on some

This phone probably will be forever as usual for Verizon to release. We're still waiting for the 9900.

Does anyone know if EVDO will allow for actual "video calling" where two people in a conversation will be able to see each other during that conversation??

No you can not do 2 way video calling yet the upload speed isn`t fast enought. but by far this is one of the tightest phone`s i`ve ever seen and the 9900 will be out in a few days (about a week) but you know how that goes but verizon wireless has been really good on releasing phone on time

There is no way this phone is even supposed to be out in a week. It would make no sense. Verizon has only launched its EV-DO network in a few cities, why would they release a phone to support it? Also EV-DO will be fast enough for video calling but Verizon hasn't supported it yet. It's broadband speed. I wish the front of this phone was as hot as the inside, that's my only complaint.

No.

That's a feature of EV-DO Release A, but that's still 1-2 years away. What Verizon is deploying now is release 0.

I think someone just got it right. Verizon is just milking the consumer for what they can get and trying to prep the public for vidio conferencing while they also update the network to do it. The phone is capable of what they want you have right now. EVDO Release A is currently being launch on all of Verizon's Express network.
