thats definatly a software problem. unfortunatly i cant find any of the software updates for this device anymore. 
if was able to i'd send it to you in an email. but sorry. try contacting sony ericsson to see if they can sent you the update. when i tried they told me no but a friend of mine got it out of them but erased to software from his pc before i knew he even had it.
