from all new phones that have been released to our stores. The Nokia 6230 was released with 2 going to each store, only to be discontinued the following week. Same as the Siemans SX66, and quite possibly the Treo 650 will soon follow the trend. I have experienced this first hand working for cingular.

I don't like being cynical about it, but it is best to become friends with as sales rep at a store in order to hold one for yourself.

Not trying to pick a fight, but what is your source of info about the Nokia 6230 being discontinued? I'm a sales rep, & on my current pricelist for 2/13 to 2/28 the Nokia 6230 is not listed as being phased out. The phase out models on my list include the GC82, v400, t237, t637, 7610, etc.

Releasing 2 to each store and discontinueing them sounds really stupid. I'd be surprised to see that happen here.

I can see logic behind it. Releasing 2 per store gives the illusion of exclusivity. After waiting so long for its release, the last thing i want to see is some dork with it đ

yah! just because we have 6 computers in our room (2 laptops and an alienware included), thousand watt sound systems, hi-def tv's, feature rich (current/soon to have) phones, watches with universal remotes, sell cases upon cases of caffeine drinks (www.bawls.com) at school, and demand radar in our bumpers doesnt mean we're dorks!!! it means we're capitalists!!! I think if Cingular wants to keep their cell towers in tact and not lying on thr ground around the country then they better make sure these phones are around long enough for everyone here who wants one to get one!
