Motorola V551 / V330 / V547 / V555 / V557
Cingular guy said they are not releasing the phone
Hey I just talked to a Cingular employee at the mall and he said that they are not releasing a Moto V551, and said the same about the V620. Who are you guys talking to when you talk about how they let you "play with the phone" and tell you how its hitting the market soon? These guys seemed clueless. Or maybe they just wanted to get rid of their V400s... who knows.
Anyway, will this phone come out for Cingular or just for ATT/T-Mobile? If not, then you please help me decide between the LG L1400 and the Moto V400? Think of price as a non-factor (both are fairly cheap). The Moto has 4 MB memory but I heard other problems about its functionality. The LG has a large color outer screen, but just 300K storage for photos and no USB connect. Whadd...

Just got home from the Cingular store... The salespeople I talked with thought it would be in Cingular's stores by the end of October.
Seems like they are waiting for the AT&T merger to be approved???

It will be out in less than 2 weeks. the merger will be on oct 1 or around there. Edge is allready active. They maybe kicking t-mobile off the network after the merger

Oh, the end of October... hmm. That may be too long for me to wait. Any info on a possible release price for the V551 or the V620? I'll forget about both if they come out at over $150 (which both probably will). But who knows, the LG L1400 just came out for Cingular and its just $30 w/rebates and discounts.

What problems with 551? and it's 5 mb. it will be out in 2 weeks don't know the price also cingular be in control of ATT network with the mergere which is scheduled to take place oct.1 I haven't heard a price yet.

apperently you spoke with a cingular agent and they are clueless.. if it was my money and decision go with the v400, i did and i love it.the 1400 is a great phone but made by LG....

It was a pretty hard choice though; the major pros I counted for the V400 over the 1400 was USB connect to transfer pics to the PC, and most of all, the 4MB memory for camera storage. Oddly, the LG only has 330KB. This would be fine if I could send and store them on my PC via USB, but I believe that the only way to get them there is via MMS.
