Good luck on trying to find a way to NOT PAY.. because you won't find a way to get past paying for AIM usage.

The way I understand it is AIM (even though connected through wireless internet) only costs you text message prices. So if you have a media plan that has text messages in it your AIM usage will take out of that.

OR if you do not have a text message plan, AIM will cost you the PER MESSAGE price of 10 cents/message sent OR received. Its 10 cents a message either way. That adds up really quickly.

So if you are really big into using AIM then I suggest you look at the media plans for text messages.

Well, after I log off from AIM, the phone says that there was a bunch of Bytes that were transfered. Any help?

It is to my understanding that you can ignore that.

AIM is considered TEXT MESSAGING. $.10 incoming and outgoing. Ignore the bytes information.

hate to say it but you guys are wrong unless i missed something on our bill. i used aim in our first month with cingular, and i was charged for the sign on/off, away messages, and other data charges related to aim. i would recommend the media works plan if you plan on using aim.
