Motorola is pimping out their software package, but that's as expensive as the phone, can you just buy the usb cable and use some freebie software (or a reasonably priced 3rd party)?
Also, I think I know the answer already, but is the memory expandable in any way?

Also, how do you think it stacks up against the other phone I'm looking at? I want a speakerphone, mp3 ringtones- or even wav or something, relatively decent picture/video upload ringtones for free via pc cable and download pictures from phone to pc and vice versa. Java is a nice extra too since I know it a little bit and can tinker around with it.

the z500 just seems cheap and it's a bigger phone when considering width and height.
The v551 has bluetooth and a better speaker for ringtones. It also has a better screen, though both use the same colors.
The v551 is just a better phone and that's why it's going to cost you a little bit of money, opposed to the z500 being free.

I have both phones, and i dont like the sony at all, small screen bad pic quality as long as video, the v551 beats it any day.
