this morning after charging my phone overnight i turned it on and pushed the send key to bring up my dialed calls and it just froze on me. i had to take the batt out and reboot it and it started working normally.
i also experienced another problem last night. when i pushed the camera button to capture a picture the speaker started making some screeching sound.
i have only had this phone since monday. it seems to working fine at this point now but i am worried.

lol That's the sound of your camera taking a picture, it can be disabled if you don't like that "click-click" sound.

I don't know if you have the same problem that I have had, but my phone will make a screeching sound. If it is sitting next to my alarm clock, it will sound through the speaker on my alarm. In my car, it will sound through one of my speakers. Very weird. I am planning on returning to Cingular. My husband has the same phone and he has not had this problem.

It looks as though this phone is having some issues. Check out:

I think I see a recall in the future. Shame too - it's a great phone w/o the problems.

the screeching through speakers happens with all phones. When it is going to ring you will here it on a radio before the phone even rings. Radio frequency issue.

I don't think this happens with all phones. My previous phone never had this problem and my husband has the exact same phone and it never happens with his.

i have had 6 or 7 phones in the past 5 years and everyone did the sound through speakers in the car and on my clock radio if positioned too close or in the right spot. If you sit your phone next to your computer it will make the screen jump also. It does happen with all phones. I just dont think you ever noticed with the others. Phones work on radio frequency and they cause interference with other items. Has always happened to me and i dont consider it a big deal.

I am positive that it never happened with any of my previous phones. I have done nothing different with this phone than what I did with my previous phones, i.e. location in the car, next to the alarm clock, etc. It is a big deal to me because it is happening throughout the night when I am trying to sleep. I am not saying you are wrong, but can you explain why this does not happen with my husbands phone?

I am an Electrical Engineer and I have taken numerous courses on RF Engineering. The reason stereo equipment and other electronic devices make noise when placed near a cell phone that operates on the 850Mhz Network is because they are sensitive to that low frequency. In my house, if I place my T-mobile phone (1800Mhz) in the room with my sub-woofer, it doesn't interfere. However, when my friend is in the room with his Cingular (850MHz) phone and his phone rings or he makes a call, my sub-woofer starts emitting a loud tone. Speakers, computers, radios, etc. are all susceptible to RF (Radio Frequency) interference. I can promise you it has nothing to do with the phone, rather it has to do with the frequency at which your phone operates. ...
