I was just at Best buy in Chicago on Clark st in the 60614 zip, they did not have the 551. But they were moving the Cingular phones to the main isle where the Spring use to be. There wasa Motorola rep there. She was horrible didn't know anything about the 551. She was showing me the mpx220 through Cingular and didn't know exactly how to work it or where things were on the menu. Also when I asked if it I could make a call or browse the internet with it she said that it was not activated!!! I laughed and said how do u plan to demo a phone to potential customers and not have it active??? !!! then she said it had blue tooth and I could connect it with my CPU!! Yes thats right she said CPU. She was older in her 40 maybe late late late 30's bu...

I saw posts stating that A1 Wireless had it for somewhere in the $50.00 range. However, I have also heard that they can be an iffy company to deal with.
I ended up paying 149.99 for mine with a 35.00 rebate and a 1 year contract. I also found a rebate from Cingular that will give me another 50.00 (specific for my area) back on this phone. I am happy with that price and even happier that I am not in a 2 year contract.

I am currently working in Africa and I can't get to my local (Baton Rouge, LA) Best Buy at present. I have been unable to dind the phone online.

Yup - in store, they may not have it online yet. I haven't checked. Check your zip, Cingular has added it to their website in some areas. It is listed at 149.99 for a 2 year contract.

Get it from wirefly.com ($49 after $100 rebate, 1 year contract, free charger/beltclip/earbud). Wirefly is a decent company -- they do ALL the online fulfillment for Circuit City (as 'inphonic'). This will be my second phone from them.

The question I have with them is. When you order a phone is it activated before they ship the phone also I'm and att customer so there is no porting fee, but on the website they have porting fees. I would like to use my old phone till I get the new phone and then port it and active it.
