LockLine

I'm planning on purchasing this phone within the next month, and after reading a user review I'm a little concerned.

Is it true that the LockLine Insurance Program will NOT cover this phone?

I called the AT&T Store near me and the reps were clueless (as usual). When I called AT&T's sales number, they were clueless too.

When I purchased this phone, I asked the sales person to call LockLine to get insurance. LockLine wouldn't insure it. This, combined with the fact that the phone felt like it might fall out of my hand when dialing, factored into my decision to return it.

Did the LockLine rep specify why they wouldn't insure it? I've NEVER seen a phone that they wouldn't insure.

LockLine would never insure the expensive PDA phones. Perhaps they feel this phone fits into that category.

If LockLine won't insure it does anybody know of any other way to insure this phone? Other than adding it to my renter's insurance (which only covers it if it get's totaled at home)?

Just bought this phone today at a former AT&T store. Got Lock/Line for $4.99 per month with no problem. I can accidentally drop this phone in a pot of boiling water and get a new one shipped to me the next day.

Sorry but you are paying for insurance you will not get. I don't care what you were told.

Cancel it at once and demand a refund. Lockline does not warrant the SMT 5600.

I ordered it on my phone this week and it was cancelled by AT&T

What I did do was request that the contract term be reduced to 1 year (MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY).

They changed the contract.

I work for Cingular and currently Lockline WILL NOT insure any smartphone, PDA or Blackberry device. You can, however, insure it through your home owners insurance or your renter's insurance like previously stated in the first post. If you do have insurance on your SMT5600 through lockline cancel it because they will not honor it and you will not be shipped another phone.

I don't know if the Lockline agent was supossed to tell me this, or if it is actually true, but lockline will do a ONE TIME claim on the smartphones and V3 and then cancel your insurance. This must be to cover all the misinformed sales people who sold insurance with these phones.

Well I personal actually received this phone from cingular after reporting my MpX220 stolen. They sent this one to me because they stated it was equal value to it at the time of my purchase.

Personally I am extremly happy with the phone, I just have to find the GPS for it so I can get the mapping software. Anyone know of a site to get Apps for Win Mobile?

Up till 2 weeks ago I was under the impression that lockline will not cover ANY PDA phone or the RAZR. I finally got a straight answer out of Lockline in that they will cover these phones ONE TIME and then cancel your insurance. I find it interesting that they sent an Audiovox 5600 to replace the MPX220.
