Where's the problem? Cingular or Audiovox?

conundrum

Oct 15, 2005, 10:56 PM
I just switched from an LG vx3100 with Verizon to an Audiovox 5600 with Cingular. The sound quality of the new phone is horrible (tinny and low volume mostly, even cuts in and out sometime). Is the problem with the Audiovox or Cingular network? Will switching to a Nokia (probably the 6682), still with Cingular, solve the problem? Audiovox seems better for synching to Outlook (also important to me) but the sound quality is unbearable. Am I the only one who thinks that?

Apologies for cross posting.

I'd guess Cingular or you got a lemon. My Audiovox sounds just fine (though, after dropping it once, the internal antenna has become detached and calls get droppd when I overly-shake the phone, i.e. fast walking, no problems when using a headset, though).

It sounds like something is wrong with the phone. My 5600 works fine on Cingular. The sound quality is not as good as the LG6100 I had, but it's pretty good.
