I just bought this phone off of amazon, wher it is titled with "(AT&T)" after the
phone make. I currently am held in endenchured slavery under my contract (aka. i cant get a new phone untill May), so i broke the rules. Im going to switch out my Cingular sim card into this phone. Will it work? ... i think it should due to the merger. any input is welcome.

You will not be able to use the SMT 5600 until you unlock it. The Cingular SIM cards do not work in AT&T locked phones, and vice versa (even though they are now one company).

thanks. i have my phone now, did the whole unlocking shabang, but now it simply wont connect to Internet Explorer or anything of WAP type. any help on how to do this? keep in mind i am a cingular user on a pre-destined phone to be on at&t, so the proxys are off, and i havnt got a clue what to fill in.

Not sure which method actually works, since I have not done it myself. But, there are a couple of threads that have been posted here before.
