Now that SMT 5600 is not supported....
...I want o buy this phone but with AT&T gone and Cingular not supporting it do I buy it? I am a TMobile customer now. Do I just buy an unlocked one and use it on TMobile or buy on through a place like Amazon and switch to Cingular. BTW, they say on Amazon's site that they do not do phone number switching to Cinglar, the only one they DO NOT support!
Is it as easy as just buying an unlocked unit?
Thanks.

If you are a T-Mobile customer with an expiring contract, then you could sign up for this phone at a former AT&T store and you will be migrated on to the Cingular network.
There are several posts from early to mid November that tell you how to get the unlock code and establish internet settings for Cingular if you want to sign up directly with them, get a free phone and then move this phone to their network.
Others may have better suggestions.
