international usage
admitedly, im sure this could be answered with some research on my own part (hey, i just realized that holding down the end key locks the keypad..), but given that this phone uses GSM 800, 1800 and 1900 frequencies, would it be usable (given the purchase of a pre-paid sim card there) in the UK and/or europe?
i see phones listed as 'quad band' and being touted as 'world phones' but am not sure about this phone. thanks

WHile I am not familiar with the makeup of non-US networks, from what I understand most of Europe is now on the 1900MHz frequency, with only a few areas on the 900MHz band.
If that is accurate, then the phone should work perfectly well over there. Now, that being said, there is no telling where those "few areas" of 900MHz are, or how big they may be. And if you're destination is in the middle of one of those zones, then you'll be out of luck.
It might do you well to talk with the people/companies you are visiting over there and ask them if they have any idea what their network is running, or maybe find out who the local carriers are over there and then look them up yourself over the web. Not sure if any international users are trolling...

The rest of the world actually uses 1800 and 900 MHz, while the US uses 1900 and 850/800 MHz. This phone will work internationally only in the areas with 1800 service.
