I am having a problem with my signal strength. I am in the Phoenix area and It is pretty good most of the time but for some reason, it is dead in my office.

The strange thing is that if I am out and then come back to the office, it holds the signal for a while before losing it. I don't know much about cell phones, but is this normal? I read something about being able to manually lock on to a signal. Has anyone been able do fix a dead spot like this? Is there any way to boost a signal?

I was using a Nokia 3595 and had no problem with signal. I love the 5600 and I really want to keep this phone but I have got to do something. I already swapped it out for a new one, hoping that maybe I had a bad one, but I am getting the same th...

Experiment with the 3-4 different networks you can access with your phone to see which gives you a better signal.
Go to start, 9 more, 1 settings, 1 phone, 8 networks, menu, find a new network, ...
310150, 310170, 310410 are Cingular. I use my AT&T phone on the Cingular network.

WOW after reading all the forums and trying everything outside of unlocking the phone and installing the cingular chip..I think this is working finally. I was getting very poor receptions at my house and dropping calls all the time..the bars would go from 4 to none then back to 5...I switched and it jumped to 4 and has not fluxuated since. I really just want to say THANKS for such a simple answer and step to correct this problem...now I can keep the best phone I have ever seen!!!

I have a new 64k Cingular SIM. I can manually select an AT&T Wireless network (full strength in my home, Cingular network has no bars), but after awhile, it switches back to Cingular. Hummm.... ☹️
