Anyone know if this phone has a standard 2.5mm headset jack? Looks like it does, but the Cnet review mentions a required adapter.

Thanks.

It requires an adapter only to get a normal headphone jack (like something you'd buy for your Discman or your iPod) to work. The circular jack on the bottom of the phone is a normal 2.5mm jack. However, I have found that headsets across vendors do not tend to work in each other's phones (Motorola wired headset does not work in Nokia phone and vice versa), so don't presume that since the jack is the same size that any headset will work.

They (c|Net) may aslo have been trying to say that you may need an adapter to get a headset designed for another phone to work in this phone.

Also, for what it's worth, this phone's headset jack is stereo whereas most phones are mono, which will also make a difference.

You do need an adapter to use regular headphones for listening to mp3s. I found one at Radio Shack for $6. Now I use my Sony headphones and have to turn the volume down to around 40%. With the supplied headset, I had the volume up around 65-75% consistently.
