Thank you for sharing, but your rant is misguided. Where exactly are Cingualar and AT&T's customers going? T-Mobile? well if you're in California & Nevada, you're still using Cingular's network. New York? If you were a Cingular customer, you were probably using T-Mobile's network already. Verizon? Pay more money for minutes, and get nickel and dimed for everything by a luddite company that won't even allow a proper Bluetooth unit to be released?

It might feel nice to make sentimental statements like 'learn to keep your customers, then merge" but in the end it's hollow, and frankly uninformed. This merger was all about Whitacre (CEO of SBC) building an empire, and keeping Vodafone and Verizon locked up. If Vodafone had successfully bought AWS, and been able to exercise their put with Verizon, Cingular would have been stuck with a decaying customer base and in desperate want of spectrum; and meanwhile facing Verizon who no longer had to share the money, and a spectrum rich Voadafone who would have lavished money and minutes on new subscribers. (Can you tell who I wanted to win the auction?)

Well, I guess I just shared. But it gets tiresome on these forums seeing the constant BS of people thinking the grass is greener on the other side, when they're both using the same network.
