If it's the text the appears at the top of the screen, you can't get rid of it: that's the Alpha Tag. It's a signal sent to your phone/SIM from the network that tells it everything is working correctly, it also lets you know if/when you're roaming. As long as you've got a Rogers SIM card in the phone, it'll say Rogers on the Alpha tag, unless of course you roam in the U.S., where it will say either Cingular or T-Mobile.

If it's some other text that shows up as a background, than I have no idea how to get rid of it.
