can you make the cingular logo stop scrolling?
i HATE having to press a button everytime i want to see what time it is. that cinular thing gets so annoying. does anyone know if there is a way get a different screensaver? or can you at least turn it off and just be able to see the clock? PLEASE HELP

I guess that's cuz I just got this about a week ago. When I close mine, after the outer backround/time display turns off, it does a brief 5 second cingular screen saver (is THAT what ur moaning about?) and then goes comletely blank. U can then get the screen back on by either pushing one of the side buttons or opening it up.

You can also by a data cable and remove all the cingular branding and put your own words to scroll accross the screen instead of Cingular, but I believe it cant be longer than 10 characters.

You can set the external display to run for various periods of time, including an "always on" setting. Yours must have been set to this from the factory. Just go to settings>display to change your preference. Not a big deal.

Even if you set it to "always on," it will just keep scrolling "cingular." And you'll still have to hit a button to see the time displayed.

ok... when I go to settings>display>submenu.. then I can only select the photo I want... where do I select the preferences. The only "always on" or time limit I see is on the backlight menu... 🤭

I'm curious about this too. The cingular branding crap is everywhere on this phone. Do they put it in the phones flash memory? I also bought a Nokia 6230, but not directly from cingular. I noticed that the nokia has less branding then the nokias sold at the cingular store. If i had bought my l1400 from ebay, lets say, would it have the branding on there?

I don't have a L1400 but maybe try unlocking the phone and flashing it with new software could fix the problem...
