Please also pass the word along to whoever you know that has this phone: there IS a speakerphone. Just as described in the owner's manual, hold down the LIGHTED GREEN talk button (the one one the bottom left face of the phone with a phone emblem) when placing a call for a couple seconds, and it will activate. That's all there is to it, it's plenty loud enough, and I use it all the time.
