I am waiting for the camera version to be available, but wondered: if you are browsing with this PDA phone on the Internet, do you receive any kind of alert that someone is calling you, or can you answer the call?

Yes you can. A bubble pops up that says incoming call and gives you the option the receive or ignore.

How does yours do that? Mine goes directly to voicemail. I have Sprint btw.

Maybe diff. cariers handle call procedures differently. Im on Vzw and a lil bouble (also) pops up. I can choose to answer (while surfing) or ignore and continue surfing. Once I answer, my broadband connection drops. Id call up the [data support] and see what they have to say.

Thanks! I thought these were the exact same phones, just different carriers. You would think they would all have the same capabilities. It seems the Verizon phone has more capabilities than the Sprint. Or maybe it's just that the majority of posters here are on VZW. Is that a coninkydink btw? 😁

Yes, I too have Sprint and mine goes to voicemail too. Very annoying as I missed many calls.
When I make a call, I am unable to browse. I did not get anything from tech support. Any idea as to why either calls work or the internet?

I'm not an expert on the phone, but the phone might only have one transmitter and one reciever(duplex), so, like a dial-up connection at home, it can only broadcast one thing at a time. I hope I'm wrong, but if I'm not, it's a bummer.

Yes, I guessed as much, though the tech support guys are clueless to this problem.
But then won't that mean, this situation will occur in every Smartphone (PDA Cell phone)?

I wrote the original post and am very happy to report that I often receive notification that I have a call coming in while I am browsing the Internet. At first, this did not work. I called a few times to the Verizon data technical support, and there was some silly setting that they changed....and voila! It works very well. I now am curious as to whether this feature only works while I am in an EVDO area...

Don't know about Sprint, but for Verizon, if this feature is not working for you, keep asking till you find a tech who can switch it on....

Well, thanks Matman, that was helpful. Maybe Sprint guys also offer it but the tech group are not aware of it. Nothing surprising.....
Need to even look into the bluetooth headset part too, I hear it does not work for the one with camera....
