Voice Dialing for the SX66

The SX66 does not have a voice dialer. Siemens suggested that
there may be software that could enable the phone to have voice dialing, but
oddly, they were unsure, not to mention unhelpful. I subscribe to Cingular
Voice Connect, but without the phone having voice dialing ability it is not
totally "hands-free". Does anyone have a clue if there is such software?

I checked it out and found that Voice Command does not support using a Bluetooth headset to initiate a voice command. It looks like I may not find what I need to make the phone truely "hands-free".

I use the Fonix Voicedial and have so for a couple of years...starting with my SX56 and now with the SX66. It works quite well...I was going to look into the Microsoft product, but haven't done so as of yet.

it does support bluetooth. i use my bt headset with it. you do have to press the button on your phone (u can assign any button on your phone to initiate voice command) but then through the bt headset you can say the name of the person or any of the other activities

By default, the hand-held only sends phone calls to the BT headset.

I would assume this is the hand-held needs to be placed in voice-rec mode because otherwise, the hand-held would have to listen to everything it heard to see if the head-set wanted to voicedial.

Also, this is a limitation of the BT stack on the hand-held. Future versions may support it with the correct BT headset.

My first sx66 would not stay connected on bt either. I got them to replace it and now I have very little problem staying linked to my Motorola 820 headset.
There seems to be growing problems with tech support from all entities concerning this phone because it is so new (& different)and they must not all be getting the most up to date info. When I get bad help, I call back and get a different person, whoi usually is much better.

it is really cool product, but if i have trouble with it, i dont want to wait 45 minutes to speak with a tech person who cant help me. i dont have time to call again. they need to train their people better. the person i spoke to claimed she never heard of a problem with bt and she found nothing in the data base. this seems hard to believe with all the stuff i have read online plus the fact that siemens is aware of it. her advice was to take it back to the store where they know even less.
