SYNC / WIFI / unlock

1. I just got the phone on the 18 of JAN. any one know they told me that I have to get the 39.99 dadi plane for the wireless to work. but I only try to connect using the wifi so why do I have to get the 39.99 plane.
2. If I hav ethe wifi on why should I have to pay for the extra plane. If I connect non wifi it only going to be real short o n the web. I do evion text.
3. dos any one know how to unlock the phone yet. Im going over to erup soon and would like to use it over their.

Was that in store or through the cingular toll-free number? In store I got the same spiel, but calling directly got me on the Media.NET Works plan. I think you can also cancel the data plan directly when calling also - if not, try accessing your account online and see if you can remove it. I have also heard that the phone is unlocked, but I tried a Verizon SIM in mine and wasn't able to complete a call. However, it didn't do anything funky - it just wouldn't complete the call.

Up until now, I was seriously considering getting one of these phones. Bluetooth for the car, PDA for PDA stuff, and with Cingular, WiFi to use for browsing when not sitting at the big computer.

Then I stopped at a Verizon store last night to talk about their model, and it was revealed to me that they WILL NOT sell the phone without a data plan included, on top of a talk plan. Apparently, you say Cingular does that too.

I can almost understand Verizon's stance. The guy said people were complaining about huge bills when they connecte...
