Motorola i860

I recently got an i860 off ebay. The phone works great and all but for some reason at the bottom of the screen ther is an "An" Does anybody here know what that may mean or how to remove it. I tried to upgrade my software on it but for some reason I think this "An" has something to do with the phone not taking the upgrade. If it helps, I know that this phone is "unlocked" and was previously used with a Boost sim. Thnaks for any help.
