Any news of release of 535 for Sprint?

I see that all the guys in Canada got the Telus version 535 this weekend, but does anyone know when the Sprint PCS version will be in the US???? I don't know whether to get the 5600 or wait longer for the 535 - which will probably be a lot cheaper, right?

Well...."cheaper" - most likely. "A lot cheaper" - doubtful. I was surprised to see the Telus version Retail for $400! I thought it would have been less expensive than that. Especially since it appears to lack a lot of features in comparison to the 5600. I'm in the same situation you are will123! I was originally waiting for the LG 535, then changed my mind and was gonna get the 5600. Now...I'm totally undecided. The last I heard (from a Sprint telesales rep) the 535 was slated to come out late this month. In my observation though, it seems the release date for this phone has changed quite a bit. So, I'll believe it when I see it!

From an earlier post:

5600 Advantages:
1. Larger LCD Display (240x320 vs 176x220) Okay, this sucks, but no dealbreaker.

2. Macro Mode, Multi Shot & Stitch Shot (Panoramic) feature on camera and also allows 30 second video clips vs 15 seconds on the 535.
The pics from the 5600 look like dog poo, who cares about this stuff

3. Supports both MP3 & AAC Ringtones (535 only supports AAC)
umm, no mp3s for the 5600

4. 5600 will include a 16MB card, no word yet wether the 535 will include a card.
no word yet

5. In addition to the card it comes with a MiniSD adapter to make it compatible with SD card readers. Also comes with a USB cable, stereo headphones and will support phone to printer photo printing throught PictBridge enabled pr...

That's $400 CDN, that's like $40 US right?

Actually, that's like $320 US, so at a typical discount, that would be $149~$169 US on a three year (with internet discount). That is $100~80 difference.

WOW! You're right "casualsuede" 🙂 ...I didn't realize that the $400 was CDN! I stand corrected! And, happily so 😁 I may just wait a bit longer for the 535! 😎

I got mine with a 3 year Telus contract for $199 CDN. 🙂 So far I love the thing. I like that you can change the 15 second default on the video to 200 seconds if you want to take longer vids.

Since Sprint "officially" announced this phone as part of their lineup on Monday 14th...I called Sprint to try and find a more up-to-date release date (AGAIN!). I was told "middle to late April". Of course, I was told "middle to late March" back in January as well. So, I'm still not holding my breath. But, it does seem that this phone is indeed nearing its release....FINALLY! 😎
