Horrible battery life

I just got this phone last week. So far, I really like all the features it has, but I am getting really annoyed because the battery life is absolutely horrible. I usually get less than ONE measly day on standby, with maybe 20-30 minutes of talktime! Has anyone else had this problem? According to the specs, it's supposed to get much more use than that.

If this turns out to be normal, I may end up returning it and getting the sanyo v2300 I had earlier, or one of the older LGs (225,125).

Is this normal!?

i had the same problem with my first one...ive had 3.....wait till the screen starts to mess up.....my changes the colors around (for example the reception thing is blue but often it will be purple when i slide the fon open) i would take that fon back and get another one.....the battery could just be a small issue like mine...my new battery is a little better.....

I work for Sprint and I just got this phone myself. I was talking with our tech and she looked up known issues with this phone on one of our internal websites. It says the battery thing is a known issue that will apparently have a software fix. Seem kinda weird, huh, a software fix for a bad battery? It says new software will come out that will improve the battery's performance. I guess it has somehing to do, not with the actual battery, but with the way the software translates how much power the battery actually has. If yours is like mine at all, if you watch, the battery meter will often jump up and down during different operations. Some times up to 2 bars of difference. The site says "...so just tell your customers that it's comin...

Deus01,

Do you know when the software is going to be available? If the problem is not fixed do you know what Sprint will do for the customers. Thanks

No, unfortunately I feel your anxiousness in waiting for the new software. I'm really excited to see just how dramatic an effect it will have, but be sure that as soon as I know it's released I will be straight back here to tell all my fellow 535-ers that it's out and that they should go and accaust their local Sprint technician immediately. And no, I really doubt Sprint would do anything. Sprint is an awesome company both for wireless service and for employment, but I doubt they would make compensation for an LG design flaw they didn't know about until after release. Keep your eyes peeled here, I will tell you guys as soon as I know it's out and I'll let you know how it works. Until then..."Sit tight" 😉

Honestly I've never seen or heard of the screen thing except for here. I think only from you. I don't know if maybe this is a known issue and I just haven't seen it or what. But no, I've seen no weird screen issues. The battery thing though, definately. I think mine's getting worse but we don't have any betteries in the store for me to switch to yet. I think mine's the software AND the battery. It's killin' me, but all I, and you, can do is wait. I'll see if I can remember to look if the screen thing is known or not.

Alright people. There is a new software version available for the Sprint version of this phone. It is, however, not, I repeat NOT, the software that's supposed to fix the battery issue. I just wanted to let everyone know because I am true to my word and I said I would tell you when the new software was out. All you have to do is go to Settings-->Setup/Others-->Update Phone S/W and let it do it's thing. It should find a new version within about a minute. If not, just hang in there, it'll come. The software does some VERY minor things that you probably won't even notice, but it's there, just do the OTA (over-the air) S/W update. Till next time y'all. 😁

I just called LG Corporation and they told me that they did not even know about the issue of the battery life being so short. I believe if more people called them they might do something about it ( maybe a free extended battery). The number is 800-793-8896.
It wouldn't hurt to try.
