I removed the covers and battery and let it dry for 24 hours but it still won't work. I tried another battery but no luck. I am still under factory warranty and will be returning to Verizon store. Any suggestions or experiences?

Actually since you dropped it in water, you've voided any warranty on the phone. Sorry but you are prolly out of luck.

I didn't plan on telling them about the water part. Thats's why I am completely drying it out before going in.

Drying it out will not help, there are several ways to tell it has been wet. I hope you have insurance, or else you'll be paying full price for a nice new phone 😉

Actually, drying it out does help. If you do a search on the net you will see there have been many cases where phones have been dunked (some even the ocean) and they come back to life after drying. But not mine. You mentioned there are several ways to tell if it was wet. The only way I and others know of is the little white dot behind the battery that turns red if it gets wet. I will be replacing that with a good one. Do you know of any other signs that it has been wet?

Not that anyone would tell a dishonest person such as yourself. 😁

OK, It's been almost a week of drying out and still no luck. Changed the red dot for a white one, and took it in. New phone, no problem.

There is litmus on the battery and sometimes internally. Actually what your doing is lying by trying to cover it up.I think you need to be honest. You'll sleep better at night anyway.

I got soaked last year and the kid ruined my $100 phone. I had to suck it up and went on Ebay and bought a phone. I suggest you do the same.

Hey! Too late man. They already replaced my phone for free and I am sleeping better than ever.
On V265 the litmus is not actually on the battery but on the phone just under the battery. I just replaced it with a good one.

VZW makes a ton of money. To them, what's another phone being junked. i would do the same and have VZW give me a new one if ever I soak my phone. After all, they rip you off by crippling phone features and making you pay for everything like thier POS Get it Now... it's just balances out over time. you screw me, i screw you.. 🤣

You are a piece of human waste. They do check the phones out after you give it to them and they exchange it for you. That's where the exchange phones come from. I hope they charge you full price for the phone.

The 265 is THE worst phone currently being sold by VZW. I'm sorry yours fell in the water and all, but move on to something better.
