V265 - Not for me

I've been wanting a new phone and thought this was it. With the recent price drop, now was the time. Checked it out in the VZW store and was totally disappointed. I played with the real thing, not a display. It seemed cheap, the battery cover came off twice while I was holding it, and I had trouble seeing the screen. The build quality is not as nearly as good as everyone says. What a disappointment! ☚ī¸

Maybe there was a problem with the display model? My battery cover seems to be very sturdy. However, you are correct about the screen.. its horrible, but still useable for some. It doesn't seem cheap to me, but it does feel more plastic than it probably should. A lot of people like light phones, though.

After using it for a day, I will be ebaying it anyway. Good phone, just not for me. I will stick to using its camera-impaired big brother 🙂.

I got this phone yesterday, and, while the sound quality seems really good, lots of other things about the phone are bad.
1) The color screen is horrible. They have a few wallpaper selections, but none of them look any good with the display.
2) Camera is awful
3) Very hard to set up contacts. The "soft" keys are hard to get to and use. As far as I can tell so far, you can only set up one phone number per name.
4) Not easy to put the battery in, and snap the battery cover.
5) It's hard to avoid hitting the side keys while holding the phone.
6) The phone doesn't feel that comfortable when holding it during a call.
7) The build quality is nothing like the V60i series. Those phones were very solid; the V265 is not.

For #3, you can set up more # per name, just scroll down to more and "add number". And for #4, I don't see the difficulty of putting the battery in and snapping the cover. I was able to do it with one hand.

Forgot one other thing. If you're hitting and activating the side keys while you're holding the phone then you might be gripping the phone a tad too tight.
