It's like comparing an Audi to a Ford....Audi is a great car that has some glitches (v710) where Ford translates to Driver Returns On Foot (FORD read backwards)....v265 is a crappy cheap replacement to 720/730 series with an addition of a camera and speakerphone. V710 has a bluetooth which is awesome if your car has bluetooth built-in. It has a much nicer desing and screen that v265. If this is of no importance to you, then you shelling down around $200 for a phone which is not the best. Best wait another month. VZ should have some new models JIT for Christmas.

(Sorry this is long)
It really depends on what you want from your phone and price you are willing to pay. Signal strength, voice command, and speaker phone a pretty much identical. The V710 is a lot bigger and can do more things and allows you more freedom with the transflash. The V265 screen is small and not that great but workable. Both have incredible loud and clear ring tones and speaker phones.

I own the V710 as I like the fact I can use the transflash to move audio, image and other things on and off the phone, I also use it for a modem for my PDA. I like to use my phone as a phone and also as a fun thing to mess around with (create wallpaper, ring tones and view videos). I have not had any problems with the phone working correctly ...

I appreciate the thoroughness of your response. However, I cannot tell from your post if the transflash is an accessory to the V710 or something intrinsic to the phone. Can you comment? Also, one of the main criticisms re the V710 is the low ear piece volume. What is your opinion regarding this issue?

I do not have the v710, but I belive transflash refers to a type of removable memory media. You can use it to add more memory to your phone for mp3s, photos etc.

The Trans Flash memory card is a micro memory card that fits in the top of a the phone. The Trans flash also comes with an SD caddy that the card fits into. The reason for the caddy is that there are no "readers" for the trans flash due to it's size. I wish that the trans flash was included like the Nokia 6340 (includes a 32mb MMC card). Like All Nokias, you have to remove the battery to get to the card (NGage 🙄 )

It's an accessory for about 40 bucks on amazon you can get a 125mb card and reader. It's well worth it as you can move things back and forth, It also allows you to not bog down your phone internal memory.

If you place the phone to your ear in the right spot it's no a problem it's not that hard to figure out. The also had a hack to increase the volume which worked for me. People are saying that the newer phones don't have that problem anymore.

I appreciate your response regarding both questions. Thank you, the information will prove to be very helpful. Hopefully, VZW will have the V710 version with the corrected ear piece volume in the near future.
