Any other new phones coming out for Verizon soon?

😢
I'll tell ya, first I was excited about the v710 before it came out, then played around with the phone in person and was very disappointed. Similar case with this phone- I was all psyched up for it to come out and then once I played around with it at Radio Shack my reaction was, "That's it?" Aside from the look of the phone, not really too impressed. I thought Id be able to look past the screen size, not to mention the quality of the screen, but I guess they were more important to me than I thought.

Does anyone know of any other Verizon Wireless phones coming out over the next few months? I'd like to determine whether it makes more sense to pick up one of these v265s or wait until something better comes out n the near future. ...

LG VX-8000 is supposed to be coming out 1st quarter of 2005, and that should be quite a phone.

There's also an updated Samsung smartphone coming soon, but thats only for the PDA/phone crowd, as its quite expensive.

Thanks for the response. I'm not very fond of LG phones, and not sure the PDA/phone is for me (expensive, bulky). Hopefully we'll have some other options soon.

same here. i hope VZW comes out next year with more brands like Nokia, Sony Ericsson, and even Motorola than LGs. I kind of tired of seeing all these cheap plastic looking LG phones..

I don't know if anybody posted it earlier but I was just wondering if anybody knows the release date of the v265 at Best Buy and Circuit City, unless of course it's released there already. Thanks.

The new Samsung SCH-i640 smartphone looks cool. But everyone can always find something wrong with everything. I find that Motorola makes the best phones some people don't.

For those not familiar, the Koi is trimode with speakerphone, megapixel camera, 260k colors screen, and video. Pretty nice.

Just saw some pix of it here on Phone Scoop. Looks cool, but I'm not sure that I like the way it swings/slides open....seems like more of an annoyance to open and close than anything else, ya know?

I don't know anything about Kyocera phones. How is their quality? How does this stack up against the v265? When is it supposed to be out for Verizon and how much? Any info would be appreciated 🙂

What I'm hearing is that the Koi will be out Nov 22-23, somewhere around there. Kyoceras in general seem to be of good quality lately. The swivel design is different but like anything else one gets used to it (like with slider phones, for example). Its just up to you whether you want to get used to it.

How it compares to the 265 is something that really can't be measured yet, as the 265 is just now starting to get out to customers, and they're still in the process of seeing if the phone is buggy or has problems or not. I wouldn't go by what the user reviews are saying of a phone that's only been out a week.

Great feedback- thanks for the reply.

Do you know of any other VZW phones coming out over the next few months that we can keep our eyes peeled for?

There's the Nokia 6255i. Allegedly it'll be out by March or earlier, but who knows? Here's PhoneScoop's brief description:

Nokia's high-end CDMA phone This feature-packed clamshell sports a VGA camera with flash, dual color displays, Bluetooth, video recording and playback (including streaming), an MMC memory card slot, stereo FM radio, MP3 player, speakerphone, and infrared.

That's all I know. And btw, you really should give the LG VX-8000 a second look... its a true 3G phone and looks really quality, though I'll agree that not all LGs fit that description (for example, the 6100's 'volume bug').

Looks like if you really need a phone NOW, get the v265. Its the best value for your dollar. And its a pretty good phone, not GREAT but good enough.

the v265 and the koi are vastly different phones
the v265 will be an entry level camera phone that will sell for rediculously cheap by vzw
the koi is a high end 1.2 megapixel camera phone with a built in speaker and a high res/large color screen...when taking a picture this phone looks more like a camera than a phone...sweet
my experience with kyocera was iffy...i had a 2235 that had display issues...but its service was pretty decent actually...and this was a couple of years ago tho
with their rercent recalls..at least they are owning up to it...i'm personally waiting for the nokia

Yeah, the V260. It's the same thing, but no camera with a value starting @ $49.
